Building confidence by focusing first on what you can do is important in order to learn what you think you can't do. That's part of my tutoring philosophy.I have taught mostly English, writing, and math to elementary and middle school students, and I have helped students with homework as an after-school counselor. My favorite subject to teach is math - as a child I was tutored on the subject myself, and I credit the instructor with making it possible for me to understand concepts that I found very difficult. I now use the same techniques.I am earning a bachelor's degree in psychology at CUNY Brooklyn College, with a minor in children and youth studies. I also do applied behavior analysis work with children who have an Autism Spectrum Disorder.In my spare time, I enjoy playing the bass guitar, dancing, stepping, and spending time with my dog. I also perform community service work with a chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
