EducationMIT - BA, Chemical Engineering
ExperienceI am currently a student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where I am majoring in chemical engineering. My experience includes tutoring as a math peer while in high school, and tutoring a younger brother in math. I have tutored people that I have known for many years, and people that I have only just met.My chosen field of chemical engineering requires perseverance, patience, and communication. When it comes to teaching methods, I am a scientist first. I have participated in a number of competitions, including the New York Science and Engineering Fair, and am familiar with explaining research projects in ways that are understandable and concise. I am practiced at explaining difficult subjects in ways that allow the information to be understood and processed. In effect, I show rather than tell. It is very important that students are able to understand a subject rather than just repeating ideas to pass a test.As a tutor, I am most comfortable and have the most experience teaching physics, chemistry, differential equations, calculus 1-3, precalculus, geometry, trigonometry, algebra 1-2, and SAT math. I also tutor students in physical chemistry, physics, multivariable calculus, advanced placement, finite mathematics, honors chemistry, and test preparation. In addition to tutoring, I enjoy biking and movies.
