I graduated cum laude from City University of New York's York College, where I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology. I went on to earn my master's degree in education, also cum laude, from Pace University in New York. My teaching experience spans six years, with the last four being dedicated to full-time teaching and tutoring students both one-on-one and in small groups. I want to help each child I meet become a lifelong learner. I incorporate various learning methods, including hands-on activities. I believe it is important to build a relationship with each student and to create a safe learning environment where students are able to see mistakes as opportunities to learn. Respect is an important part of my work; I teach my students to let respect guide them in all interactions, and I model this by treating each of my students respectfully. I am available to tutor students in a variety of subject areas, including elementary math, reading, writing, study skills and organization, homework support, English, and preparation for the ISEE and SSAT.Outside the classroom, my interests and hobbies include cooking, traveling, reading, playing piano, exercising, dancing, painting, and exploring different cultures.
