Alexandria A.
Private tutor in East New York, NY
Education
I graduated from the Mary Louis Academy with honors in 2008, and went on to receive a full scholarship towards the attainment of my Bachelors Degree in English Literature and Public Policy from Hunter College in 2012.
Experience
I attended Hunter College on full scholarship and maintained it through my four years. I have been tutoring students of all ages for the past 5 years, and I am proud to say that all of my students saw improvements in their work. One of my students went up four reading levels in just a few months. I tutor students in all subjects from first to fourth grade, and from fifth grade onward, I focus in on reading and writing skills.

Hobbies
I currently work in the educational department at Queens Botanical Garden, and have worked in the nonprofit sector for the past 8 years. I have been an active member in my community for approximately four years , volunteering my time as secretary to both my local community board and a local grassroots organization. My hobbies include writing and painting, and I am an avid reader. I love working with students. My personal approach is very holistic, I give each student the attention they may not be receiving in class, and tailor each lesson to bridge the gaps between their level of understanding and the material.
